Looking at this time as opportunity or challenge, and the Power of Now.

Introduction: A Consciousness Check-In

The Reflections In Consciousness meeting #37, Advancing or Regressing, brought together thoughtful voices to explore a vital question: “Are we, as individuals and as a world, advancing or regressing?” Through honest conversation and personal storytelling, participants examined the crossroads many feel—pondering if there’s more we could, or should, be doing to support ourselves and others on the path of spiritual and emotional evolution. Do we realize the power of now? This check-in was less a coaching session and more an opportunity to clear negativity, recognize personal growth, and offer support.

Owning the Power of Now

A recurring theme throughout the conversation was the importance of living in the present—the power of now. Kim beautifully summarized this, reminding us: “It’s never not now… In four hours, it’ll be now. Yesterday, it was now.” With this awareness comes a release—being neither fearful of the future nor regretful of the past. Tracia added, “The future doesn’t exist, only the present,” emphasizing quietness as the birthplace of compassion, both for ourselves and others.

Several participants discussed the need to tune out the noise of external chaos—politics, news, digital media—and instead anchor ourselves in the light, love, and appreciation found in the immediate moment. This focus allows us to discern which ‘battles’ are truly ours to fight, reminding us that our attention and energy are precious resources.

Clearing Negativity and Embracing Acceptance

Aingeal Rose courageously shared her struggle with declining sight, speaking candidly about how hard it can be to find the ‘gift’ in current hardship. Rather than offering a solution, the group held space, normalizing the ebb and flow of positive thinking and recognizing that sometimes, clarity eludes us in the moment. This acceptance—and the lack of judgment from her peers—embodied a key lesson: advancement isn’t always about doing; sometimes, it’s about being, realizing the power of now, and accepting where we are.

Frances echoed this, saying she simply tries to “feed whatever I like that’s positive,” and emphasized not being afraid of the future. Margaret meanwhile, described her journey of self-healing and detoxing, feeling guided to focus on her own well-being, accepting help and synchronicity rather than pushing against perceived shortcomings.

The Role of Relationships and Human Connection

Despite technological advancements, human relationships and community remain central to meaningful progress. Ahonu relayed a striking study: people increasingly seek help from artificial intelligence rather than from those beside them—a problematic shift. In this light, gatherings like this Reflections In Consciousness meetup and local community involvement became even more precious, reaffirming the power of now, and that “the human connection is what’s going to bring us into enlightenment… nothing else.”

Margaret’s contribution, supporting others through her Positive Start meetup and simple presence, demonstrated how even when we feel “in our own little world,” our energy, healing, and compassion ripple outward. The frequency we anchor in each day shapes not only our experience, but also the communal field.

Practices for Advancement: Mantras, Junk Clearing, and Synchronicity

Several practical tools emerged for maintaining and elevating our state of being. Diane shared the transformative effect of space clearing: “The more I get rid of, the wealthier I feel,” aligning physical decluttering with spiritual lightness. She also reflected on the power of mantras—“I listen to my guidance and take action”—alongside the important realization that what we fill our minds and fields with (our thought forms) shapes our personal and collective reality.

Animals and nature appeared for many as messengers and comforters, reinforcing the wisdom of the power of now and modeling resilience and joy even after difficulty.

Conclusion: Compassion, Quietness, and the Power of Now

Reflections In Consciousness #37 illustrated that advancement is not measured in leaps, but in moments of self-compassion, quietness, and intentional presence. The world may clamor for our attention, but by owning our minds and tending to our inner frequency, we not only navigate our own crossroads—whether they're physical, emotional, or spiritual—but create ripples of positive change for those around us.

Remember: the worst may already have happened, and the present moment is the doorway to all that is possible. Anchor in the power of now, tune out the noise, and trust that even amidst uncertainty, you are doing better than you think.
